2025 Events
We present nine monthly programs free to the public throughout the year, in addition to being actively involved in Tulsa’s Circle Cinema’s “Second Saturday Silents”.
Our programs feature local artists & include time for “Open Console” where members and non-members alike can try out the organ. We also provide chamber tours thanks to our unique ground-level chambers.

Gospel Night with the Sooner State Chapter
Join us on February 20th for our annual gospel night! Music will be performed on our chapter’s 1928 Robert Morton theatre organ and our 1908 Kimball baby grand piano. Music will be performed by chapter members as well as local guests. Bring the family out for an evening of music for all to enjoy!

Second Saturday Silents at the Circle Cinema
Our featured silent films this year are all from 1926, ONE HUNDRED YEARS OLD! A short funny cartoon will also be shown! On January 10th is a classic comedy short starring Charlie Chase called “Long Fliv the King”, and the feature film starring Buster Keaton, “Battling Butler”. You can experience a movie like they did a hundred years ago with authentic accompaniment on a vintage theatre pipe organ! The movie accompaniment will be played by Bill Rowland, and walk-in and walk-out music by staff organist Mike Huffman on the Circle Cinema’s original 1928 pipe organ.

Never on Sunday with the Sooner State Chapter and the Tulsa AGO
Join us on January 20th at St. John’s Episcopal for an evening of fellowship with our local counterparts from the Tulsa AGO chapter! Music will be performed on the church’s Schoenstein & Co. Opus 173. Music selections will be a wide range of popular music that all can enjoy so, please come join us!

Christmas with the Sooner State Chapter of the American Theatre Organ Society
Join us on December 12th for an evening of Christmas music and fun! Chapter members will play Christmas favorites on our almost 100-year-old theatre organ and 117-year-old piano that was originally in the lobby of Tulsa’s historic Mayo Hotel. Cookies and bottled water will be provided along with free photos with Santa! Make sure to bring your family and friends for an evening you’re sure to remember.

Our featured silent film on November 8th is a classic from 1927 starring Janet Gaynor and Charles Farrell in “7th Heaven.” This movie won four Academy Awards in the very first Oscars, “Best Picture” (then called “Outstanding Picture”), “Best Actress”, “Best Director”, and “Best Writing (Adapted Screenplay)”. You can experience a movie like they did a hundred years ago with authentic accompaniment on a vintage theatre pipe organ! The ever talented and nationally renowned Dennis Scott will be returning to Tulsa to accompany the 1927 silent film “College”, starring Buster Keaton. Broadway Musical Favorites with the Sooner State Chapter
Our August program is sure to get your toes tapping as the music of Broadway is performed by chapter members and returning guest Evan Anderson! You’ll hear favorites such as music from “The Sound of Music”, “Carousel”, “Fiddler on the Roof”, and every Oklahoman’s favorite, “Oklahoma”! A small collage of the world famous carousel building at the Sanfilippo Estate will also be shown from Mike Huffman and Logan Davis’s journey to the 2025 ATOS Convention! The program is “Silent Summer Shorts, Female Comediennes,” starting with “A Hash House Fraud” starring Louise Fazenda from 1915, next will be “Her First Flame” featuring Gale Henry (1920) and lastly “What Happened to Rosa” with Mabel Normand also from 1920. You can experience a movie like they did a hundred years ago with authentic accompaniment on a vintage theatre pipe organ! "Ice Cream Social" Kilgen Theatre Organ Performance featuring Seamus Gethicker
On Monday, April 28, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., a Kilgen Theatre Organ performance will be held in the Devon Great Hall at the Oklahoma History Center. Organist Seamus Gethicker will perform several springtime several classic springtime musical numbers to enhance the theme, “Ice Cream Social.” Ice cream will be served before the performance, so early arrival is recommended.
